Previous: High Altitude Observatory (HAO)
Most of the EIT-related activities that will be performed at
the ROB are already financed independently from this project
(labeled with '*'). To extend this effort to the LASCO
coronagraph data and to confront in detail the simulations with the
observations, one extra postdoc (3 years) is needed.
The complete ROB program will then consist of:
- 1st year: automated scanning of EIT archive (*) and
development of EIT event catalogues (*);
scanning of LASCO archive and
development of LASCO event catalogues;
study of LASCO time-height profiles;
development of a CME case-studie
catalogue of multi-instrument observations
(subtasks 2.2, 2.3, 5.2)
- 2nd year: derivation of CME prototype scenarios, statistical analysis
of EIT event catalogues (*) and
LASCO event catalogues resulting in prototype scenarios;
development of instrument dependent visualization tools
(subtask 2.3, 5.1)
- 3rd year: observational tests (both EIT and LASCO) of simulation
results
(subtasks 2.1, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3)
