Keynote lecture and welcome reception
Monday Nov 16, 2009: 18:00 - 21:00
We welcome Prof. Willy Benz from the university of Bern, Physikalisches Institut as the keynote speaker of this esww edition.
The lecture will be given on the conference site, ambassador room.
The keynote lecture is followed by a reception at the beautifull Gothic Hall of Bruges. The mair will welcome us at 19:30 in the town hall which is on walking distance from the conference site. You can taste a typical beer of Brugge: de Brugse Zot - the Brugge's fool and have some fingerfood.

Debate: Space Weather and the Earth's Climate

The solar influence on earth's climate is the subject of several scientific discussions. At the same time, people worry about the actual solar minimum and the absence of sunspots. The debate is open to the press, to the public and to the scientific community. It promises to be interesting.


Beer tasting
Wednesday Nov 18, 2009: 16:30 - 18:30
During the space weather fair and poster viewing, you will have the opportunity to taste 4 kinds of Belgian beer: dark Brugse Zot - blond Gouden Carolus - Kriek or Framboise Boon - Geuze. A small snack is accompagnying the drink.

Conference Dinner
Thursday Nov 19, 2009, 18:30
The St. Donaas room at the Crowne Plaza Brugge is the decor of the conference dinner. The hotel is located in the neighborhood of the 'Heilige Bloed kapel' - 'Holy Blood chapel'. During the construction of the hotel, fundaments of the 12th century St-Donaaskerk and a part of the old city wall were excavated. Restaured parts were integrated in this banquet room and attrack the attention. While enjoying your meal, you might be surprised by some historical figures.
We will get the opportunity to go in groupe from the conference site to the Crowne Plaza Brugge.
