A number of active regions where present on this disc: AR1051 in the Northern hemisphere and AR1049 and AR1050 in the Southern hemisphere. A group of (partial) halo CMEs erupted over the solar North pole on February 28 with a projected speed of about 300km/s. GEOMAGNETIC ACTIVITY ------------------- No significant geomagnetic activity was observerd during the period. A weak shock arrived in the solar wind on Feb 25 around 15h00. Given the Southward Bz component of the magnetic field and low speeds (~380km/s), the geomagnetic reaction was limited to a Kp=2 episode. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- DAILY INDICES DATE RC EISN 10CM Ak BKG M X 2010 Feb 22 016 010 84 005 A5.9 0 0 2010 Feb 23 017 009 84 003 A7.6 0 0 2010 Feb 24 041 021 83 004 A6.8 0 0 2010 Feb 25 028 019 83 005 A5.9 0 0 2010 Feb 26 030 017 81 003 A3.8 0 0 2010 Feb 27 023 011 79 001 A3.2 0 0 2010 Feb 28 /// 008 78 003 A2.3 0 0 # RC : Sunspot index (Wolf Number) from Catania Observatory (Italy) # EISN : Estimated International Sunspot Number # 10cm : 10.7 cm radioflux (DRAO, Canada) # Ak : Ak Index Wingst (Germany) # BKG : Background GOES X-ray level (NOAA, USA) # M,X : Number of X-ray flares in M and X class, see below (NOAA, USA) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTICEABLE EVENTS DAY BEGIN MAX END LOC XRAY OP TENCM TYPE Cat NOAA NOTE #--------------------------------------------------------------------# # Solar Influences Data analysis Center - RWC Belgium # # Royal Observatory of Belgium # # Fax : 32 (0) 2 373 0 224 # # Tel.: 32 (0) 2 373 0 491 # # # # For more information, see http://www.sidc.be.
